, Underworld Productions Opera was created in 2004 and incorporated in 2008 to produce operas that are outside the box of mainstream repertoire, including premieres of new works, under-represented works of past centuries, and updated stagings. UPO makes New York's cultural riches accessible to all with free performances in underserved communities, especially Washington Heights and Inwood.
